You’ve officially checked into the resort, unpacked just enough to find your swimsuit, and made your way to the bar.

What’s your first official vacation drink?

A. Spicy margarita
B. Frozen piña colada
C. A glass of ch*****ne
D. The resort’s local rum punch

I love a nice cold glass of ch*****ne myself, but there’s something about that first tropical rum punch that says, “I have arrived, and I will not be answering emails.” 😂

What are you ordering?

If your perfect Caribbean vacation includes more than sitting at the same resort pool for seven days, I would very much like to introduce you to Curaçao.

Yes, the water is gorgeous but this island also gives you colorful architecture, incredible street art, hidden coves, beautiful beach clubs, great food, local culture, and plenty of opportunities to get out and explore.

Curaçao is especially good for couples who want a little bit of everything:

Slow mornings at the beach
An afternoon wandering colorful neighborhoods
Snorkeling in ridiculously clear water
Dinner somewhere local
And cocktails at a beautiful beach club before heading back to the hotel

It’s also outside the main hurricane belt, which makes it an especially appealing option for a fall Caribbean trip.

Would I recommend it to someone who wants a huge, traditional all-inclusive and never plans to leave the resort? Probably not.

But if you love boutique hotels, local restaurants, street art, beach-hopping, and a vacation that feels like you actually experienced the destination? Curaçao might be exactly your kind of island.

A little holiday travel reality check from your friendly travel advisor…

If you’ve been thinking about spending Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year’s somewhere warm, now is the time to start making actual plans.

Can I still find options later? Usually.

Will they be the best flights, rooms, resorts, and prices? That part gets a little questionable.

The first things to disappear are often:

The convenient nonstop flights
Family suites and connecting rooms
Beachfront and swim-up categories
The smaller boutique resorts
And anything that doesn’t require leaving home at 4:00 AM with two connections and a prayer

You do not need to have the entire trip figured out before reaching out to me. You can come to me with a destination, a vague idea, or simply, “We don’t want to be home for Christmas.”

That is plenty for us to get started.....but we really should get started soon!

Hello, September!

We’re officially entering one of my favorite travel-planning seasons...the part of the year when holiday getaways start feeling very real, winter escapes make their way onto the calendar, and those big 2027 trips finally move out of the group chat!

I already have clients counting down to Hawaii, Aruba, Cancun, and a few other dreamy places…and I am very much here for all of it 😍

Because yes, Scottsdale is fabulous…but Downtown Phoenix deserves some love too. 😉🌵

Apparently it’s officially Hawaii season over here at Jaunt or Journey… and I am VERY okay with that. 🌺

I have clients heading to Oʻahu next week for an anniversary trip, another couple celebrating their anniversary in Kauaʻi + Oʻahu next month, a Christmas getaway to Maui currently in the works, AND my first Hawaii trip of 2027 already being planned for Kauaʻi + Maui in February.

And truly, I could plan Hawaii all day long.

It’s one of my favorite places in the world because every island offers something completely different. Kauaʻi feels lush, wild and laid-back. Oʻahu gives you beaches, incredible food, culture and plenty to do. Maui is that perfect mix of beautiful resorts, adventure and scenery. There really is an island — or usually a combination of two — for just about every kind of traveler.

I absolutely love getting to send my clients there and helping them experience a little of that aloha for themselves.

If Hawaii has been living on your someday list, let’s put some actual dates on the calendar so you can start worrying about the important things… like which bathing suits you’re packing.
