For more than 25 years, Texan Transportation and Texan Fleet Services have provided trusted full-service transportation, heavy-haul, and fleet maintenance solutions across Texas and surrounding states.
We operate a 20-truck fleet and full in-house maintenance shop, handling everything from preventive maintenance to major repairs — engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and more.
We’re looking for a skilled, dependable Fleet Mechanic who takes pride in quality work and keeping our trucks and trailers safe, compliant, and on the road.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel tractors, trailers, and light-duty trucks
Perform DOT inspections and ensure units meet federal and company safety standards
Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Handle PM services (oil changes, brakes, filters, tires, lights, etc.)
Perform in-shop and occasional road calls as needed
Maintain accurate service records in Fullbay or other maintenance software
Assist with parts ordering and inventory
Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, and the operations team
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of diesel mechanic experience (Fleet, Trucking, or Equipment Repair)
Familiarity with Cummins, Detroit, CAT, and/or Paccar engines preferred
Experience with diagnostic tools (Motive, Nexiq, etc.) a plus
Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in shop or outdoor conditions
Dependable, safety-minded, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Schedule & Pay
Full-time: Monday–Friday (occasional Saturday availability)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate based on experience ($25–$40/hr typical)
