Region 8 ESC Mount Pleasant, TX Region 8 Education Service Center is one of 20 Regional Education Service Centers within Texas

Everything the Region 8 ESC offers focuses on helping educators be successful and helping schools save money and leverage resources - driving more money to students in the classroom - where it matters most. Region 8 ESC is governed by:
• A seven-member Board of Directors, elected by local school board members; and
• An Executive Director, appointed by the Board of Directors, with the approval of the Commissioner of Education.

The Quest for Healthy School Meals was a great day of learning, connection, and collaboration at ESC8!

School nutrition professionals from across Northeast Texas connected with brokers and vendors, sampled products, and explored new ideas for serving nutritious, appealing meals to students.

We were pleased to welcome brokers:
Acxion, Affinity, AP, Core, Fidler, Fusion, Lakeland, McLean, and Hanks
Along with participating vendors:
Hiland, Tyson, Lux Bakery, Pryor Cattle, Peterson Farms, Don Lee, Bake-Corp, Bridgford, General Mills, Nippon Shokken, Rich, Yumi, Frito-Lay/PepsiCo, Darlington, That’s It, TIPS, LMS Associates, Health-e Pro, EPI, Preferred Source, i3 Education, Reliance, and Sysco ET.

Thank you all for sharing valuable resources and supporting our school nutrition professionals as they work to provide quality meals for students across our region.

All remaining food from the event was donated to God’s Closet / Camp County Cares in Pittsburg, Texas, helping extend the day's impact into our local community.

ESC8 was excited to welcome Glenda Goh Denison with MiniOne Systems as she worked with teachers in our Biology Master Series cohort to explore mini gel electrophoresis units and micropipettes.

Teachers gained hands-on experience with the equipment and put their new skills into action through lab activities.

This engaging professional learning gave educators the opportunity to experience the tools and techniques firsthand while exploring ways to incorporate them into science instruction.
