KOPO, LLC is a for-profit social enterprise that addresses pressing health and societal needs of the developing world through context-appropriate products. Our venture exists because a group of engineers and designers with work experience in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America saw vast needs globally for low-cost products in the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector. Befittingly,
our first product - the KOPO Can - will equip developing communities with a 10-liter container that they can use to kill pathogens in collected groundwater using the sun. Pairing this with the KOPO Roller will enable end-users to transport large quantities of water with greater ease and less bodily strain. We will leverage our products in the majority world to cut down on community health costs by reducing the prevalence of diarrheal diseases, as well as providing a cheaper, better-adopted platform for water treatment and transportation to our international NGO/aid organization customers in the WASH sector.
