Wabtec Corporation and MRS Logística have signed an agreement worth approximately US$254 million. The investment, which will be made in phases through 2032, includes the acquisition of new advanced-technology locomotives, spare parts, and specialized maintenance services, supporting the company's modernization and sustainability commitments.

“This agreement reflects the strength of our longstanding partnership with MRS and our shared commitment to advancing sustainable mobility in Brazil,” said Danilo Miyasato, President and Regional Leader for Wabtec in Latin America. “Through these technology solutions, we are supporting MRS in achieving its productivity, energy efficiency and long-term sustainability goals.”

Wabtec Corporation has delivered the first two battery-electric locomotives to Union Pacific Railroad’s West Colton Rail Yard in Bloomington, California. Built at our Erie, PA site, the switchers are part of Union Pacific’s efforts to test next-generation technologies that could help shape the future of freight rail.

“This milestone reflects Wabtec’s shared commitment with Union Pacific to advancing the future of freight rail,” said Rafael Santana, Wabtec’s Chairman and CEO. “By deploying FLXdrive in daily operations, we’re building real-world insights needed to refine and scale battery-electric technology, delivering best-in-class value for our customers.”
