Tag yourself - I’m a convenient Wednesday morning trip into Northampton on Route 904 to catch an Amtrak train towards NYC. How will you ride with Link413?

These are awesome improvements, Franklin Regional Transit Authority! 😎 After March 2nd, the newest evening Route 31 trip from Northampton will be a great way to catch the 6:15 pm Link 903 from Greenfield back towards North Adams!

Thanks for the shout out Federal Transit Administration (FTA) ! We’re excited to finally be bringing new and improved transit connections for our communities across Western Massachusetts.

Responding to rider feedback, Pioneer Valley Transit Authority, Berkshire Regional Transit Authority, and Franklin Regional Transit Authority are launching three new weekday bus routes. These lines will connect four counties in Western MA and offer better out-of-state links, making regional travel easier than ever.

😍Through Link413, a new long-distance bus system, students at Amherst College - like everyone else - can more easily access regions such as the Berkshires. PVTA, FRTA, and BRTA have launched a new long-distance bus system with routes connecting Pittsfield to North Adams, North Adams to Greenfield, and Greenfield to Northampton.
"The current full fare is $10, but a reduced fare of $5 is available for customers over 60 years old, with a Statewide Access Pass, or with a Medicare Card. Free fare is available for children younger than 5 years old or customers with a Massachusetts Commission for the Blind ID Card."

Gotta love Link413 — launched by three Regional Transit Authorities to connect the ridership of BRTA, Franklin Regional Transit Authority (FRTA), and Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA).

We want west/east rail. We want inter-county service. We're making progress together.

(It's good to pause and acknowledge moments like this amid all the struggle and hardship.)

Link413 will provide service on three new commuter routes: route 901 will travel one way in approximately 45 minutes between Pittsfield and North Adams; route 903 will travel one way in approximately 90 minutes between North Adams and Greenfield via the communities of Adams, Savoy, Plainfield, Ashfield and Charlemont; and route 904 will travel one way in approximately 90 minutes to connect customers between Pittsfield and Northampton along the Route 9 corridor with intermediate stops in the communities of Dalton, Windsor, Cummington, Goshen and Williamsburg.

A one-way Link413 ticket costs $10 per trip, or $5 per trip for qualifying customers.

Riders can buy tickets through MassDOT’s BusPlus+ mobile phone app.
