Happy Independence Day. If you're coming to the airport today or in the next few days, please know that there are power lines and trees down alongside our driveway. The driveway is passable, but exercise caution. The airport is experiencing partial power losses around the campus. The runway is open but airfield lighting, the AWOS, and the fuel system are down. Some buildings are without power as well. The restaurant is open but check with other individual businesses to ascertain thier status.

On Saturday October 14th, EAA Chapter 643 will once again be hosting a Young Eagles Day to introduce kids to aviation.

If you are interested in aviation and are between the ages of 8-17 or know someone who is, consider attending the next Young Eagles event at Sky Manor Airport.

Launched in 1992, the Young Eagles program has dedicated 30 years to giving youth ages 8–17 their first free ride in an airplane.

It’s the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation.

Please be advised that beginning on or about 1/20/2023, weather permitting, Chesapeake Bay Helicopters will be mobilizing to the JCP&L region to begin performing comprehensive visual inspections (CVIs) on all JCP&L 500kV and 230kV lines. These inspections are expected to take approximately six weeks to complete, however, any storm or outage-related patrols could prolong completion. The helicopter to be used is as follows:

White w/black and red stripes, Hughes MD500 with red tail registration number N717MA

A comprehensive visual inspection (CVI) is a slow, structure-by-structure, span-by-span inspection where the inspector onboard the helicopter gets a thorough look from top to bottom of each structure, associated hardware, and conductors of the transmission line(s). The helicopter will be moving very slowly along each of the transmission lines and will often be seen hovering while carrying out these inspections.

The airport is asking restaurant visitors and the public for your cooperation to park only in marked parking spots. This includes not blocking or restricting our driveway, parking in restricted areas or other airport operations areas, on our grass, or any other area not intended for parking.
The airport requires that adequate ingress and egress be maintained at all times for airport operations and emergency vehicles. Vehicles parked in areas not intended for parking are subject to being towed. The airport parking lot is also not a public lot. It is for airport-related business only. If you park your car in the airport lot without permission and leave, it will be removed.
