This month the Free State of Florida enacted legislation to ensure ADS-B would only be used as intended, because of course it was being used for other things:

“An airport may not use information broadcast or collected by automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast systems … as a means for calculating, generating, and collecting fees from aircraft owners or operators who operate aircraft within the geographic boundaries of this state.”

Montana has enacted similar legislation.

Currently there is a bill in Congress, the Pilot and Aircraft Privacy Act, would create a federal law against using ADS-B data for profit.

The Chapter introduced 15 young folks to aviation on 4 April, flying 15 Young Eagles on an absolutely beautiful day. Congrats to our Young Eagles on their certificates and logbooks. Now, they just need to keep adding hours..... 😀
