🌎 History took flight at Plattsburgh International Airport.

On August 12, Heart Aerospace’s full-scale X1 demonstrator, the world’s largest battery-electric aircraft, completed its historic first flight right here in Plattsburgh. The aircraft flew entirely on battery power for 27 minutes, reaching 1,100 feet and demonstrating more than one megawatt of electric propulsion.

This milestone showcases Plattsburgh International Airport as a place where aviation innovators can test, grow and help shape the future of flight. We are proud to provide the runway where history happened and excited to see what takes off next.

Last week, Plattsburgh International was pleased to welcome the Head of the U.S. Department of Transportation, Sean Duffy as well as Founder of Beta Technologies, Kyle Clark!

We love to see the continued growth with Beta while assisting them with their aviation initiative here at the Plattsburgh International Airport.

The team at Plattsburgh International Airport had a fantastic time participating in the The City of Plattsburgh and The Town of Plattsburgh's Memorial Day Parade! We were proud to showcase our airport departments, connect with community members, and join our neighbors in honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. 🇺🇸

Thank you to everyone who came out to support this wonderful community tradition. We are grateful to be part of such a patriotic and engaged region and look forward to serving our community both on the ground and in the skies.

🎥 TSA Confirm.ID - Starting February 1, 2026, TSA Confirm.ID will offer a secure, fee-based option for travelers who arrive at the checkpoint without an acceptable ID, including non-REAL ID licenses.

Confirm.ID helps verify identity on-site, enhances security, and keeps checkpoints moving efficiently. Travelers should still bring an acceptable ID whenever possible—Confirm.ID is a secure backup.

Beginning February 1, 2026, TSA is introducing TSA Confirm. ID. This is a modernized, fee-based identity verification option for travelers who arrive at the checkpoint without an acceptable form of ID, including non-REAL ID compliant licenses.

What to know:
- If you don’t have an acceptable ID, TSA Confirm. ID can verify your identity on-site.
🔐 Confirm. ID enhances security and helps keep checkpoints efficient.
✈️ This new system helps prevent unauthorized individuals from accessing the aviation system, strengthening safety for all travelers.

Travelers are encouraged to bring an acceptable ID whenever possible, but Confirm.ID will be available as a secure backup starting in 2026.
