We do not only deliver furniture. Today Jason Gray (our Director of moving) was down using our trucks to assist in the Toys for Tots drive. This is a year long by effort by Jak Kustoms Foundation.

The 2022 Spirit of Giving Toy Drive will kick off Friday, Dec. 2 and goes all weekend long, but you can make your donation now.

We have been fortunate enough to gain some veterans and Army National Guard reservists as employees this year. Our reservist was called to active duty for the next year and will leave Wednesday. Before leaving, he nominated Eric Miller for the Patriots Employer Award. When Eric received the award he said, "I am deeply touched by the sentiment behind the award, and I grateful to Jake Peterson for his service to our country. It is an honor to count him among our ranks."

We support Jake and pray for him along with his fellow reservists during their deployment. May God bless them.

Moving is difficult from both an emotional and physical prospective. While Dragonfly is fully prepared to bear the burden of the physicality of the move you will be left to deal with the emotional side. Unfortunately, this is a time where logic must overrule our emotions. Here at Dragonfly we have a few suggestions that might help address the issue.

Start by addressing your children’s desire for heirlooms being saved so that they may be passed down. We often discuss with our clients the disparity between what they expected their children would like to receive and what they actually would like to receive.

Our clients face a sudden realization of the changes in lifestyles that the younger generation are going through. Many parents are surprised to find that their children have little desire for formal dinning rooms and all that they encompass (china, Grandma’s silverware, formal servingware,…).

Our suggestion is to focus on sentimentality. What has family history attached to it and would be valued for that reason. These seem to be the items that the next generation is thrilled to receive.

My wife and I have five children. Four of the five have occupied a beautiful crib. To this day it sits in our basement waiting for the first grandchild. Unfortunately cribs that have sides that lower are now banned so none of our grandchildren will be using this crib. Why is it still in our basement? Because we are not ready to face the prospect of throwing it out.

A move would change that dynamic, as storage space in the new home would be typically limited. Eventually for us the frontal lobe part of the brain will have to overrule the limbic system.

Have you ever bought an item and then just not gotten around to using it because the time never felt right? New studies suggest an explanation for what researchers call nonconsumption.

Side Job: Looking for someone to repair minor scratches on furniture. Currently there is a shuffleboard table in the warehouse where the shipper ran a forklift through its crate. Surprisingly there are a few minor scratches on it. The manufacture has sent a kit to repair them but need someone with the talent to complete the repair.

Big changes here at Dragonfly!!! The planning board has approved the addition of 21,000 square feet of self-storage units here at Hitchner Road. We have subdivided the land and the new self-storage units will operate as Dragonfly Self Storage (directly behind our parking lot). There will be units of all sizes along with the rare 5’x’5’ units (with college students in mind).

The supply chain problems pushed the installation date to directly after the winter frost breaks. More information to come!

Did you know that if you store your gun safe and its contents at our warehouse that we can plug in its internal dehumidifier? We understand the size of the investment that you have made and will help protect it. We store safes right behind our office which makes “visitation rights” convenient.
