People often ask what boat I row when I have time on the water.

This is it.

My Heritage 15 has become my favorite platform for training, photography, and exploring the waters around Cape Cod. The Vespoli shoes make long rows comfortable, the mirror lets me keep an eye on what’s behind me, and the GoPro helps capture the places rowing takes me.

There are faster boats. There are lighter boats. (This is a Heritage 15 Classic - I.e. fiberglass laminate)

But when I want to spend a few hours on the water, enjoy the scenery, and come back with a smile, this is the one I reach for.

The question of how many clamps is needed for a boat building (or wood working) project often comes up. The usual answer is 1 more than I have available.

Fortunately I have enough to install teak trim on a Heritage 15. The “in-process” photos only give a hint of what the finished product will look like.

A near-perfect day on the water for today’s Rowing Rendezvous. Strong offshore breeze, sparkling water, great conversations, and plenty of demo rowing with a fantastic group of people.

Nothing beats seeing classic rowing craft lined up along the beach, ready to launch into open water. Thanks to everyone who came out and shared the day with us. 🚣🌊

It’s pretty wild to think about where these boats end up.

The boat in this photo is on the water in Guatemala — built years ago by the previous Little River Marine team in Florida. That kind of reach doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from building boats that last.

Now we’re pushing that even further.

We’ve got a boat crated up and heading to Costa Rica, and another one going to Canada in May.

Every one of these leaves our shop packed carefully, built to handle the trip, and ready to row when it gets there.
