THIS IS WHY HMW LLC EXISTS. 🇺🇸

I got into freight brokerage because I was tired of watching good carriers get treated poorly.

I’ve watched brokers quote customers one price, take an enormous percentage for themselves, and leave the carrier—the person actually doing the work—with a rate that barely keeps the truck moving.

Meanwhile, that carrier is paying for:

⛽ Hundreds of dollars a day in diesel
🚛 Commercial insurance
🛣️ IFTA and road taxes
🔧 Maintenance, tires and repairs
🏠 And days or weeks away from their family

And after all of that, they’re still expected to work for a rate that leaves almost nothing at the end of the day.

HMW LLC was built to do things differently.

A broker should earn their money, too.

That means verifying the load information. Checking that equipment is ready. Confirming operability, dimensions and weight. Providing accurate pickup and delivery information. Vetting carriers. Verifying authority and insurance. Communicating with both sides. And fixing problems when something doesn’t go according to plan.

A carrier shouldn’t deadhead for hours only to discover the vehicle isn’t there, isn’t ready, doesn’t run, or weighs thousands of pounds more than they were told.

And a customer shouldn’t pay a fair transportation price only to discover that a huge portion of it never went toward actually transporting their property.

At HMW LLC, we intentionally keep our brokerage fee small—often under $200, even on cross-country moves—so more of the customer’s transportation budget goes where we believe it belongs:

To the carrier doing the work.

That’s also one of the reasons we’ve built a reputation for getting shipments moving quickly. When you offer qualified carriers a fair rate, communicate clearly, and treat them like business partners instead of the cheapest truck you can find, good carriers want to work with you.
