Another fiberglass repair and refinishing project completed at Weatherly Boat Works.

These engine vents from a 34’ Sea Ray came in with cracks, surface damage, and previous wear. We repaired the damaged fiberglass, blocked and faired the surfaces, and completed a full professional marine spray finish to bring them back to like-new condition.

Proper prep work is everything in marine refinishing. Taking the time to repair the substrate correctly before paint is what creates a finish that not only looks right, but lasts.

Finished up this 35’ Cabo today.

Boat was already in good shape — just needed a light polish, waterline cleanup, and wax to refine the finish, sharpen the gloss, and protect it for the season.

Sometimes the right process on a solid boat makes all the difference.

Also taking on dockside washes and wash & wax maintenance this season.

Why prep work matters

This 26’ Lyman came in with fire damage on the front deck.

Before any paint goes on, everything has to be ground back, repaired, and leveled properly. This stage isn’t flashy—but it’s what determines how the final product looks and holds up.

Interlake 1327 has undergone a comprehensive, top-to-bottom refurbishment at Weatherly Boat Works. This project encompassed a full structural and cosmetic restoration, elevating the vessel to both high-performance racing standards and premium finish quality.

The hull and deck were refinished using a complete Awlgrip coating system, delivering exceptional durability, deep gloss, and long-term protection in demanding marine environments.

A precision faired racing bottom was added, bringing the hull to a true, optimized profile. This process eliminates surface irregularities, reduces drag, and enhances hydrodynamic efficiency—translating directly into improved on-the-water performance.

Finishing details include a custom-fabricated teak rub rail, adding both functional protection and a classic, high-end aesthetic that complements the overall restoration.

The result is a fully revitalized Interlake that not only presents at an exceptional cosmetic level, but is also dialed in for competitive sailing.
