I’m convinced, savvy travelers choose October to visit Oregon and beyond.

This one was extra special as I was invited to support Discover Oregon Backcountry with guests traveling from Costa Rica. In tandem with his Spanish-speaking guide, Hans, we shared our beautiful state with this curious and inspired travel group.

More days like this, please.

You’ve just come to the Oregon Coast for the first time and in the early part of the day it’s pretty fogged in. You wander the shore a bit, take photos of , dip your toes in the cold Pacific Ocean, walk through the shops and see the sites in Cannon Beach, enjoy a catered lunch and then…the fog lifts.

And we’re so glad it did for the 65 Parents as Teachers National Center guests we had on board during a pre-Conference trip to the Oregon Coast.

After lunch, the fog lifted, blue skies and sunshine emerged; we made a quick jaunt to viewpoint for an epic view before heading back for conference time.

We were so grateful to spend this time with such an amazing crew. This trip was made possible with a little help from industry partners and pals 👉 Thank you Michelle Bergey of Lost Plate Food Tours for being a fantastic step on guide, the babes behind Oregon Coast Event Co. and CannonBeach_PartyRentals, Laura and Erin, the team at Cannon Beach Community Hall, and our superb drivers with MTRWESTERN for getting us there safely and in comfort!

When the multigenerational girls trip leaves the group chat and they head from Atlanta, Georgia to Oregon!

This was a special trip to be a part of. Three generations ascended upon Willamette Valley w**e country and they did it up, but well-paced.

3 days, 9 w**eries, and loads of territory covered. In no particular order they enjoyed:

Their biggest takeaway was (to no surprise) they absolutely loved the highly anticipated array of Pinot Noirs and were, surprisingly, happy to enjoy Oregon Chardonnay — plus many varietals in between.

Fun Fact: they came with their own itinerary in hand, prepared by AI. Yep, my first experience with this and… probably a lot more travelers coming prepared in this way. An interesting learning curve to say the least. 🗺️ 🥂

To everyone who spent their Saturday with us: thank you.

We learned and shared so much “Inside the Harvest,” with Alice Achayo leading us through the cellar and our tasting experience, alongside Bree Stock MW, who shared so much beautiful insight and knowledge and let us poke around and enjoy the day at Bree + Chad Stock.

Our special day included many nibbles, bites, pours, and flights, along with a special guest encounter with Brandi Carter, who also shared her w**emaking wisdom.

Our takeaways are reflected in the images above with impressions that have left a mark on our senses. We can’t wait to do it again as unique opportunities arise inside the harvest, the cellar, and on the land. ✌️ 🪶 🥂
