Great news for our neighbors in South Portland! The Portland International Jetport is excited to announce the FAA has published a new approach (RNAV RNP Z RWY 29) that will keep more arriving aircraft over the water, significantly reducing overflights of populated areas.

This new, precise GPS-based approach mimics the old harbor visual approach but can be used 24 hours a day and in lower visibility.

Thank you to the Jetport Noise Advisory Committee and community members for their dedication over the past 20 years to make this a reality!

After six years, a new flight path at Portland Jetport keeps planes over water longer, reducing noise in South Portland neighborhoods.

If you’re visiting our terminal this week you may notice a repetitive banging sound. In preparation for laying down new concrete, our contractors have a guillotine running to break up the old concrete for removal. It’s loud, and a little off-putting, but not a cause for concern!

A huge thank you to our partners at TSA for continuing their mission during this Federal Government shutdown!

PWM is NOT currently experiencing the screening delays that are affecting other airports. We will continue to update this information should changes occur.

UPDATE: We are accepting donations! You can drop off non-perishable pantry items and gift cards (up to $20 for groceries or gas) at the Donation Box before you enter the queuing space for the TSA Checkpoint.

Important Gift Card Note: Please hand any gift cards directly to a TSA manager at the TSA checkpoint.

UPDATE 2: Our partners at HMS Host will also be accepting donations at our Starbucks location to support our TSA team.

Update 3: We continue to see an outpouring of support! Donations are now being collected in a Donations Box before you enter the queue for the Security Checkpoint.
