TEHACHAPI LOOP: The single-track line, essentially unchanged; is still in constant use today, 122 years after its completion. It passes an average of 36 freight trains each day and attests to the superior job of both engineering and construction which was done by the two civil engineers.
The Tehachapi Loop was built by the Southern Pacific Railroad between 1874-1876
