Today we’re highlighting Dan Matusko, who joined the MYC crew in September 2025.

Dan comes to us with extensive experience in yacht finishes and general boat work. He’s brought that same “get it done” energy to our yard. Since starting, he’s become a go-to for everything from technical paintwork and composite repair to carpentry.

“My favorite part of working at MYC is the diversity in tasks,” Dan says. “Every day brings a new challenge.”

When he’s not keeping the fleet in top shape, you’ll find Dan leaning into everything Maine has to offer—whether he’s surfing, skiing, hunting, fishing, or grabbing a bite at his favorite restaurant: .

Cool Fact: Dan once had the chance to jam with Glen DaCosta, the legendary saxophonist who played with Bob Marley in the 70s! While Glen was skeptical of Dan’s guitar skills at first, one jam session was all it took for them to become fast friends.

Next time you see Dan around the yard, ask him about his latest paint project!

The minor refit of this X-Yacht 50 continues with the installation of a new water-maker and autopilot. While the water-maker is not fully online yet, the technicians worked some magic installing the components in the lazarette while leaving as much space as possible for storage and simultaneously making it easier to service.

The autopilot is also easily accessible, making any unforeseen maintenance issues easier to address.

The woodwork is nearly finished on this classic blue water cruiser.
