Portland Tugboat LLC Welcome to our page. We focus mainly on the goings on in Portland Harbor. Please feel free to share any history or pictures you may have of our tugs.

Thanks and enjoy! Portland Tugboat & Shipdocking was founded in 1985 by Capt. Arthur J Fournier. The company was purchased by McAllister Towing on December 21 2001 and renamed Portland Tugboat LLC. We currently operate a fleet of 4 tugboats that primarily work right in Portland Harbor, 24 hours a day 365 days of the year. On occasion we are asked to help out in other ports or pick up a tow outside

of our operating area. As of January 2022 our fleet and employee roster are as follows:

Andrew escorting the future USS Harvey C. Barnum Jr out of the Kennebec River for the last time. This state of the art, highly capable machine and its crew are Norfolk bound. Once there she will be commissioned by its namesake and put into active service for the United States Navy.
