Today is a good reminder that transportation comes in many forms—walking, biking, transit and dependable local rides.

Here in Hillsboro, families are being encouraged to walk or bike to school today for National Walk & Roll to School Day. Meanwhile, Portland commuters continue adapting to the I-5 southbound closure with alternate routes and transportation options.

Al’s Transport is available for local destinations, family and friend outings, events, dinner trips, PDX transportation and prearranged rides throughout Hillsboro, Beaverton and Portland.

A timely road note: southbound I-5 through Portland’s Rose Quarter remains closed during the current repair project, so anyone heading into Portland should allow additional time and plan alternate routes.

Whether it’s dinner in Portland, a birthday celebration, a concert, a casino trip or a night out with friends, Al’s Transport can help your group get there and get home without somebody having to volunteer as the driver.

A transportation heads-up for this weekend: southbound I-5 through Portland’s Rose Quarter remains closed between I-405 and I-84. The project is currently on schedule for completion around October 16, so allow extra travel time when heading into or through Portland.
