As students head back to school, our roads are once again filled with school buses carrying some very important passengers. 💛

**Distracted driving can wait. Our students’ safety can’t.**

📵 Put the phone down
👀 Keep your eyes on the road
🚌 Give school buses plenty of space
🛑 Never pass a school bus with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended
🚸 Watch carefully for students at bus stops and crossing the street
⏰ Slow down and allow yourself extra travel time during morning and afternoon bus routes

A text, notification, or phone call is never worth putting a child’s life at risk.

Our school bus drivers work hard every day to get students to school and back home safely. **We need everyone on the road to do their part, too.**

As we kick off another school year, I want to send a huge WELCOME BACK to the entire Gross School Bus family — our drivers, aides, mechanics, dispatchers, office staff, and everyone behind the scenes who makes each day possible.

What you do matters far beyond getting children from one place to another. Every morning, families place something incredibly precious in your care. You are often the first smile of a child’s school day and the last familiar face they see before coming home. You keep them safe, encourage them, learn their names and their stories, and become part of the rhythm of their lives.

Thank you for the early mornings, the long days, the patience, the kindness, and the countless things you do that most people never see.
Here’s to a safe, smooth, joyful, and amazing new school year! May every bus return safely, every child feel cared for, and every member of the Gross team know just how deeply appreciated you are.

I wanted to share an update on Charlie this morning. ❤️

His mom shared that his transplant went very well. He made it through surgery and is now in the CICU, heavily sedated and still on a breathing tube while his new heart and his body begin the work of healing.

And please, keep praying. 🙏 Pray that Charlie's new heart grows stronger with every beat. Pray for improving heart function, for his breathing tube to come out soon, for his body to accept this beautiful gift, and for healing without complications. Pray for his mom and family as they keep watch beside him and walk through these fragile first days.

So today, we are grateful for Charlie's new heart, for the hands that cared for him through the night, and for every one of you who has carried him in prayer.

Please keep carrying him. ❤️

Keep beating, little heart. Keep fighting, Charlie. We're all praying you through. 🙏❤️

Our dear friend and Gross School Bus family member, Diane Moser, has a son who is scheduled to receive a heart transplant at 5:00 p.m. today.

There really aren’t words big enough for a day like this—the fear, the hope, the waiting, and the incredible gift that makes this surgery possible.
Please surround Diane, her son, their entire family, and the medical team with prayer and love. Pray for steady hands, a strong new heartbeat, healing, peace, and many beautiful tomorrows ahead.

And while we celebrate the hope this heart brings, please also hold the donor and the donor’s family close in your hearts. Somewhere, another family is experiencing unimaginable loss while giving someone else the gift of life. May they be surrounded by comfort and love, too.

At Gross School Bus, we aren’t just coworkers. We are family. And today, one of our own needs all of us behind her.

There are so many reasons why I love being the **Regional Recruiter for Region 1 and OJR in Student Transportation** but the biggest reason is simple: **the people.**

I have the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated, talented, hardworking, and passionate people in this industry. Every day, I see coworkers step up for one another, support our locations, solve problems, celebrate successes, and—most importantly—keep our students and communities at the heart of what we do.

Recruiting in student transportation is about so much more than filling open positions. **We are building teams. We are creating opportunities. We are connecting great people with careers that make a difference.** Every driver, van driver, monitor, mechanic, dispatcher, recruiter, and team member plays a part in safely getting students where they need to go.
