✈️ **NEW NONSTOP FLIGHTS COMING TO OWENSBORO**
Travelers using the Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport will soon have another nonstop destination.
United Express is preparing to begin **daily nonstop service from Owensboro to Washington Dulles International Airport**, with the first flights scheduled to begin October 13.
The new service will give travelers in the Owensboro area a direct connection to the Washington, D.C. region and access to United’s broader network through Dulles.
The new Washington service is part of a transition at the Owensboro airport, with United Express taking over the community’s Essential Air Service operation from Contour Airlines.
And travelers who use the airport for trips to Chicago will not lose that nonstop option. United is also scheduled to take over the Chicago route later in October.
Current schedules indicate the Chicago transition will begin around October 25.
For local travelers, the change means Owensboro will soon have **nonstop service to both Chicago and Washington, D.C.**
The Washington Dulles flight is expected to take roughly two hours.
We'll continue to follow the changes at Owensboro Airport and provide updates as the new service gets underway.
