Am I trying to fit too much into this trip?

Rome. Florence. Venice. Amalfi Coast. And since we’re already over there…maybe Greece too?

On paper, it sounds incredible.

Until you realize every new destination also means packing, checking out, getting to the train station or airport, traveling, finding your next hotel, checking in…and getting settled all over again.

Suddenly, the trip you planned to see everything has you spending a lot of time getting from one place to another.

One of the things I look at when designing a Europe itinerary is how the trip will actually feel, not just how many places we can technically fit into it.

Sometimes another stop makes perfect sense.

Sometimes I’d rather give you an extra morning in Florence to wander with nowhere you need to be, a full day along the Amalfi Coast, or another night in Rome so you’re not watching the clock.

You can always come back.

A great itinerary isn’t about how many places you visit. It’s having enough time to actually experience them.

“Am I spending all this money on the wrong hotel?”

Because there’s nothing worse than booking a beautiful hotel…then realizing the one three doors down would have been a much better fit for you.

A higher price tag doesn’t automatically mean a better vacation.

When I’m comparing hotels, I’m looking beyond the pretty rooms and five-star rating.

Is the location right for what you want to do?
Does the room category actually matter?
What’s included—and what will you pay extra for once you’re there?
Is the atmosphere romantic, lively, quiet, family-friendly?
Is that incredible pool actually where you’ll want to spend your time?
And are you paying more for things you don’t even care about?

Sometimes I’ll absolutely tell you the upgrade is worth it.

Other times? I’ll tell you to keep the extra $1,000 and spend it on an incredible dinner, a private boat day, or something you’ll remember long after you’ve checked out.

The best hotel isn’t always the most expensive one. It’s the one that becomes part of the memory.

How do you know which experiences are actually worth booking?

A private boat day. A food tour. A cooking class. A skip-the-line tour. A sunset cruise.

There are so many ways to spend extra money on a trip, and the answer isn’t to book all of them.

What I look at is whether the experience actually adds something to the trip.

Will it give you access you wouldn’t have on your own?
Will it save you time?
Will it help you understand the destination better?
Will it become one of those things you talk about long after you’re home?

Sometimes the best choice is a private experience. Sometimes a small-group tour is more than enough. And sometimes the smartest recommendation is to skip the tour entirely and leave the afternoon open.

My clients usually aren’t afraid to spend money on something special.

They just don’t want to waste it.

The goal isn’t to do more. It’s to choose the experiences that make the trip better.

You told me you want an all-inclusive…but you don’t want it to *feel* like an all-inclusive.

I hear this one a lot.

You want the ease of having everything right there, but you’re picturing beautiful spaces, really good food, a great beach and cocktails you actually want to order.

You don’t want to spend the week fighting for a pool chair, eating the same buffet every night, or feeling like you could be at any resort in any destination.

So when I start narrowing down options, I’m looking beyond the star rating.

How does the resort actually feel?
Are there à la carte restaurants you’ll be excited to try?
Is there somewhere to grab a really good cocktail before dinner?
Does the beach match what you’re picturing?
Is the pool relaxing or is there a foam party happening at 2 PM? 😂
Are there experiences on property beyond just nightly entertainment?
And most importantly—does it fit the way **you** want to spend your vacation?

There are some incredible all-inclusive resorts throughout Mexico and the Caribbean that feel worlds away from the all-inclusive stereotype.

The trick is knowing which ones.

A beautiful trip starts long before you pack your suitcase. ✨

For me, it starts with getting to know you. What you’re dreaming about, how you want your days to feel, what matters to you—and sometimes even what you know you *don’t* want.

From there, I get to do what I love: research, design, refine, and bring all those little pieces together into something that feels like *your* trip.

Because travel planning should feel exciting, not like 37 browser tabs and wondering if you made the right choice. 🤍

From that first conversation to the moment you leave, this is a little look at what planning with me looks like.

Maybe you already know where you want to go. Maybe you just know how you want it to feel.

Either way, we can start there. ✈️

Loudoun County parents… save this one. 👀✈️

The 2026–2027 LCPS calendar has some very travel-friendly breaks hiding in it — including a few long weekends that could easily turn into a quick getaway without the kids missing school.

And if Spring Break, Winter Break, or one of those sneaky long weekends already has you thinking, “Okayyy…where could we go?” — that’s where I come in. 😉

The earlier we start looking, the more options we typically have for the best resorts, room categories, cruises, and pricing.

📌 Save this for later

The first thing I look for in a hotel… isn’t the room.

When I research a property, I’m looking for something most people skip over…

I want to see reviews where guests remember the concierge’s name. Where staff noticed an anniversary without being reminded. Where a problem was solved before it became a vacation headache.

Beautiful hotels are everywhere.

Genuine hospitality isn’t.

When you’re booking a hotel, what’s one thing you always check before hitting “reserve”?

I’ve learned that the trips we keep putting off eventually become the ones we wish we’d taken.

It feels like we have plenty of time left in the year…until suddenly we don’t. Schedules fill up, the months fly by, and before we know it, another year has come and gone.

If taking a trip and making more memories was something you wanted to do this year, there’s still time. Whether it’s a fall getaway, a holiday escape, or simply a few days somewhere new, now is the time to start planning.

Because there will always be a reason to wait. Sometimes, you just have to book the trip. ✈️

Ready to plan something before the year is over? Let’s chat.

And officially another Greece trip is in the planning phase 🇬🇷✨

This couple is kicking things off in Central Athens with all the history, iconic landmarks, hidden streets, and exploring the heart of the city.

Then they’re heading to the Athens Riviera for sunshine, crystal clear water, beach hopping, snorkeling, seaside spots, and soaking up that laid back energy. ☀️🌊

And finally… Naxos 🤍Exploring mountain villages, winding roads, local tavernas, hidden beaches, hiking, small towns, and getting a more authentic feel for island life in Greece.

If you couldn’t tell already… Greece has become one of my absolute favorite destinations to plan lately ✨ If Greece has been on your mind, let’s chat because there are so many ways to experience all that it has to offer

Kids stay FREE at Velas… yes really 👀

If Velas has been on your radar, this is a really good time to look

This isn’t just for one property… it’s across all Velas Resorts in Mexico ✨

Think luxury all inclusive… but actually luxury
• 10% off base room categories (and up to 20% off select categories/locations)
• Kids stay FREE
• Teens are 50% off

So whether you’re looking at Riviera Maya, Cabo, or Riviera Nayarit, you’re getting the same level of service, food, and overall experience Velas is known for

This is one of those brands that once you try it… it’s hard to go back 😅

If you’ve been pricing this brand before, this is definitely worth a second look 👀
