Island Air Taxi is a new option for air travel to and from the Lake Erie Islands. Based at Put in Bay Call or text (419)573-2960 to schedule your flight.

Providing air service for South Bass, Middle Bass, North Bass, Kelleys Island, and Port Clinton at $45 each way for adults and $25 each for children 2-12 years old. Fly in a Piper Cherokee Six with Club Seating that can carry five passengers or cargo. Flights can be scheduled from sunrise to sunset, seven days a week, year round.

When there’s a minnow shortage for ice fishing on the island….just call JD’s Flying Fish Service🤣🤣 glad we could get 56 gallons of minnows delivered to the island in almost 40 buckets today! Nice job coordinating Jordan!

Ice fishing is in full effect! Hundreds of shanties off Catawba State Park today and many more off the Erie Islands with ice as far as the eye can see! This video is looking south just west of Catawba Island

Just a Heads up….this can obviously change a lot from today but…..Wednesdays wind forecast looks a bit sporty and flights will likely be delayed and/or canceled if it stays as forecasted.

We usually put flights on hold when wind speeds get above 40mph but it also depends on wind direction as well as gust spread. Plan accordingly or plan for a rough ride😅

Just a heads up for this Friday December 26th….its calling for freezing rain in the morning and low clouds with poor visibility in the afternoon so I am not sure the amount of flights (if any) we will be able to accomplish if it’s as bad as the forecast says. Ohio weather is obviously unpredictable two days away, but be advised there will be delays.

I am flying all of Christmas Day as well as Saturday the 27th if you’d like to reschedule.

We never just give up on flying during weather delays until the sun goes down, but plan accordingly.

Top pic is over Catawba looking west towards Toledo and the bottom is also looking west, just a bit further north between Catawba and South Bass Island. Not solid at all obviously, but lots of lil ice patties getting blown around by the high winds. It’s interesting to watch forming throughout the day.

Looks like flying season is starting earlier than expected this year! Let’s hope for some good ICE and good fishing! Here’s some info for the 2025-2026 flying season:

Airfare prices will remain the same as last year.

$50 Adult one-way (13 and up)
$25 Child one-way (12 and under)
Kids under 2 years old and pets fly FREE

We’ve updated our business phone system (number is still the same 419 573 2960) but need to update our contact list as many were lost in the process. This will drastically help streamline the booking process for everyone!

If you fly plan on flying with us this winter…….Please **TEXT** the following info to 419 573 2960 in the near future before it gets super busy. It makes her job so much easier when she had this info ahead of time!

1. First and Last name
2. Your weight
3. Verify email address for billing accounts or if you want to setup a billing account

Chontel and pilots are the only ones that see the weights because it’s important for everyone’s safety and loading of aircraft. You are only judged if you lie 😁

FYI…..We schedule Port Clinton flights on the top :00 and bottom :30 of the hour and the islands on :15 and :45

Texting is the best way to communicate when booking a day or more in advance. Chontel is the only person answering the phones, your patience is appreciated! She handles immediate bookings/last minute changes first (there’s a lot) If you do reach voicemail when calling, make sure to leave date and number of travelers. I assure you, Chontel will call or text you back asap.

Please let us know if you are EARLY or especially LATE!!!! We are very flexible with communication but run a tight schedule!

Your flight time she gives you is “wheels up”, not unload and park. If you’re on time, you’re late!!😂😂

This Friday at 6pm (March 21st) we will be having a little customer appreciation pizza party for the official end of winter flying season! Coordinating with Griffing Airlines and the PIBVFD, we will have a quick flyover and water cannon salute at the Put-in-Bay Airport. Stop by the new airport terminal at 6pm for a quick celebration with live music, pizza, treats, and drinks for both children and adults.

Most importantly, this is also a send off for our amazing pilot Josh Bierley. This will be his final flight with us as he just accepted a position flying Hawker and Gulfstream jets around the world. This could not be more bittersweet, so we want to take this opportunity to thank him for his time flying the islands with us properly!

We truly want to thank everyone on ALL the Lake Erie Islands for their support this winter. And to thank Josh for being such an amazing part of our team and friend to us all. Come join us this Friday at 6pm!
