Congratulations Max Vogel for the successful completion of your Private Pilot checkride July 31st!

Max trained with CFI Melodie in our C172s. He passed his checkride at the Albany Airport with Andy DeFeo, DPE.

Max plans to pursue aviation as a career and will be headed to Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) soon.

Leaf Air instructor Melodie, who also serves as a FAASTeam Representative, along with Chris Coleman from the FAA FSDO, had a great day Saturday meeting with first responders from Horicon, Pilot K**b, Queensbury Central and Pawlet, VT fire departments, as well as Warren Co. Fire Coordinators Office, FBO-Rich Air and airport staff. The discussion focused on first responder safety at aircraft accidents. First Responders also looked at safety at the solar farm with Kyle Moore from Nexamp.

During the workshop, the responders took a look at different types of aircraft for location of fuel tanks, doors, ballistic chutes and more.

A special Father’s Day at Leaf Air!!

Francisco, who took flight training years ago, reconnected with his instructor Jim to introduce his three sons to flying. As Dad rode along, each one took the pilot’s seat for an Introductory flight lesson! What a great way to celebrate the day!!

"Our flight with Jim at Leaf Air was incredible! Such breathtaking sights of Lake George and the Adirondacks. I would highly recommend this experience if you are looking for something unique to do in this area. Seeing everything from up above was unlike anything I've ever done before. It's very different from riding in commercial planes where you really don't see much besides during take off and landing. Jim and Melodie are great!"

Had a great scenic flight with Yuri and Dimitri on Saturday! They are originally from Moscow and moved to the US several years ago. We were happy to show them our beautiful area from the air, which they truly enjoyed!
