The Gorge Amphitheatre concert season starts this weekend.
We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time at outdoor concerts and festivals this season. A few simple steps can help protect you, your friends, and those around you:
Stay Hydrated: Drink water throughout the event — especially in hot weather. Heat exhaustion and dehydration can happen quickly.
Watch for Heat Illness: If you feel dizzy, confused, nauseated, or weak, seek medical help immediately.
Be Weather Aware: Outdoor conditions can change rapidly. Pay attention to event announcements and emergency alerts regarding lightning, wind, smoke, or evacuation instructions.
Stay Aware of Your Surroundings: Know where exits, medical tents, and staff/security locations are located. If something feels unsafe, report it immediately.
Alcohol Safety: Drink responsibly and know your limits. Alcohol can increase dehydration, impair judgment, and make emergencies more dangerous.
Drug Safety: Illegal drugs, unknown substances, and counterfeit pills can be extremely dangerous — especially in crowded outdoor environments and high temperatures. Mixing drugs and alcohol significantly increases the risk of overdose, medical emergencies, and death.
If someone appears unconscious, overheated, confused, or having trouble breathing, call 911 or notify medical staff immediately.
Plan Ahead: Have a transportation plan before the event begins. Never drive impaired.
Help Keep Emergency Routes Clear: Do not block gates, roadways, or emergency access lanes.
Most importantly: look out for one another. Quick action and good decisions save lives.
