Happy 36th anniversary, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)! Back on July 4th, I visited Knightdale Station Park and its newly renovated playground that features a rubberized surface (it previously had mulch), ramps to the play structures, a large shaded play area where a train play structure is located, and a Communication Board featuring pictures of common words and objects that a non-verbal person can point at to communicate something. Go check it out sometime! And please tell me how you will celebrate ADA Day! 🙂🛝🚂

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, and I had a meeting this week to discuss bringing back the ACCESS North Carolina travel guide in some format! Also, spring break is starting this weekend for school systems across our state, and I hope families of students with disabilities will find plenty of accessible places to visit over the next week! 🙂

I received an e-mail today from Waypoint Adventure with this information about "Rock Climbing For All" at Fiddlehead Farm and Forest in Fletcher out in Western North Carolina:
