I had the incredible opportunity to explore Machu Picchu on Circuit 3, on day 2 and it reminded me why this destination is on so many travelers' bucket lists. I recommend combining the experiences of Circuit 1 for the classic panoramic views and Circuit 3 which is exactly what we did!
Circuit 3 takes you through the lower section of the ancient Inca citadel, where you can experience many of its most important structures up close. Along the route, you'll see impressive agricultural terraces, sacred temples, ceremonial areas, and residential buildings while learning about the remarkable engineering and history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
One of the things I love most about Machu Picchu is that each circuit offers a different perspective. Circuit 3 provides a more immersive look into daily life within the city and is an excellent option for travelers who want to spend more time exploring the archaeological site itself.
Standing among these 15th-century stone structures, surrounded by the breathtaking peaks of the Andes Mountains, is truly a humbling experience. Pictures simply can't capture the feeling of being here.
