Junior Release Agent

Job Type: Full Time, flex work schedule, must be available nights and weekends as required to fill in for vacations.
Location: U.S. territory (Remote)
JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a Release Agent to be responsible for customs release, and expedition of client shipments. This is an entry-level position providing administrative support, document handling, and potential to grow with our company.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain, match, and coordinate all incoming release documentation.
• Contact clients/carriers for missing documentation, information, and/or instructions.
• Establish correct client accounts.
• Review established client procedures.
• Enter data from documents.
• Enter all additional costs.
• Maintain, control, and follow-up RMD package pending Customs release.
• Respond to client inquiries regarding tracing and other client services.
• Control and arrange payments of disbursements as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Basic knowledge of customs operations and terminology.
• Ability to coordinate assignments to meet deadlines.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Ability to reflect a professional company image.
• Required to have the willingness and capability to learn position with on-the-job training.
• Having a very good knowledge of all Microsoft apps.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms.
WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED
• One year experience as a Release Agent
• Knowledge in AES, in-bond, ISF and entry processing.
• Some experience working remotely.
• Having experience with Smart Border will be a very important asset and is preferred.
EDUCATION
Required: High School/GED or equivalent
Working towards/or successful completion of the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America (NCBFAA) is a requirement, if not already obtained. Successful completion of the CCS examination is a mandatory requirement for further advancement and/or becoming a licensed CBP broker. Must be able to pass a federal background check, we cannot hire any individual that has been convicted of a felony for this position due to CBP compliance regulations.
