Inside Fence Empire

One question we hear frequently is:

“If the order is only one or two pallets, why does it sometimes take longer to produce?”

The answer may seem surprising.

In many cases, small custom orders are actually more challenging than large production runs.

Large-volume products are often scheduled as part of continuous production programs, with materials, tooling, and labor already allocated.

Custom dimensions, specialty rails, or low-volume items often require:

• Machine adjustments
• Tooling changes
• Separate production runs
• Additional quality inspections
• Independent drying schedules

In some situations, the setup time can be longer than the production time itself.

For manufacturers, production efficiency is not determined only by quantity.

It is determined by how many times a process must stop, change, and restart.

That is why some specialized products require additional planning, even when the total volume is small.

At Fence Empire, our goal is not simply to manufacture products.

Our goal is to balance flexibility, quality, and efficiency while supporting the diverse needs of our customers.

Behind every order is a production plan far more complex than most people realize.

Inside Fence Empire

One of the most common misunderstandings in the wood industry is this:

“If kilns dry wood, why not place fresh-cut material directly into the kiln?”

In reality, wood drying is far more complicated.

For many fencing products — especially rails, thicker material, and custom dimensions — proper air-drying before kiln drying is critical.

Without sufficient air-drying, rapid moisture removal inside kilns can create:

• End splitting
• Internal cracking
• Surface stress
• Severe sticker marks
• High defect rates

During rainy seasons, managing this process becomes even more challenging.

At times, rushing production directly into kilns may increase defect loss dramatically, especially on customized products where replacement production cycles are much longer.

That is why large drying yards still matter.

And why experienced production planning matters even more.

At Fence Empire, quality is not simply about producing material faster.

It is about understanding wood behavior, controlling moisture movement, and maintaining consistency over time.

Sometimes, the most important part of production is patience.

In today’s business environment, it is easy to focus only on short-term numbers.

Prices change. Freight changes. Markets change.

But real companies are not built quarter by quarter.

They are built over decades.

Fence Empire was built on a long-term belief:

Stable partnerships matter more than short-term transactions.

That philosophy influences how we source materials, manage production, support customers, and invest in the future of the business.

We are not interested in becoming another short-term trading company driven only by market fluctuations.

We believe real trust is earned slowly — through consistency, reliability, accountability, and long-term commitment.

For us, the fencing business has never been only about selling products.

It is about building relationships that continue through changing markets, changing freight conditions, and changing economic cycles.

That is why we continue investing in infrastructure, supply systems, industry relationships, and long-term partnerships across the United States.

We are not trying to become the biggest overnight.

We are trying to become the most trusted over time.

The fencing industry has always been built by hardworking people, strong relationships, and generations of experience.

But the future of our industry will also depend on something equally important:

Leadership. Education. Connection. And the willingness to invest in people.

At Fence Empire, we believe supporting the industry means more than supplying products. It also means supporting the individuals who help move this industry forward every day — through leadership, innovation, mentorship, and community.

That is why we are proud to support the Women of FWA 2026 Leadership Retreat in Branson, Missouri.

Events like this create opportunities for industry professionals to connect, learn, grow, and inspire the next generation of leaders within the fencing community.

We are honored to stand alongside FWA and the many incredible women helping shape the future of this industry.

The strongest industries are not built by companies alone.

They are built by people.

Built to protect.

Today, we remember those who protected us all.

In honor of the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.
This Memorial Day, we remember with gratitude and respect.

In today’s market, supply is no longer just about production.

It is about movement.

Behind every shipment delivered by Fence Empire is a global coordination system involving raw materials, production scheduling, container availability, ocean freight, rail transportation, port operations, and final inland delivery.

The challenge is not simply making products.

The real challenge is maintaining reliable movement across an increasingly unpredictable global supply chain.

Over the past several years, the industry has experienced vessel rollovers, port congestion, equipment shortages, rail delays, tariff changes, and rapidly shifting freight markets.

Stability does not happen by accident.

It requires planning, infrastructure, relationships, and experience.

At Fence Empire, we continue investing not only in manufacturing capacity, but also in the long-term logistics systems that keep material moving consistently across the United States.

Built on Scale. Driven by Trust. Committed to the Fence Industry.

Long-term supply stability doesn’t begin at the warehouse.
It begins at the source.

Behind every bundle of Japanese cedar shipped by Fence Empire is a supply chain built around consistency, scale, and long-term planning.

From raw log sourcing to drying systems, production scheduling, and global shipping coordination, every stage matters when serving professional distributors and fencing companies across the United States.

In today’s market, the biggest challenge is not simply buying material.

It is maintaining stable supply through changing freight markets, tariffs, production cycles, and seasonal demand.

That is why we continue investing in the foundation of the business — the raw material system itself.

Built on Scale. Driven by Trust. Committed to the Fence Industry.

Behind every bundle of Fence Empire material is something most people never see — patience, scale, and control.

This is part of our drying yard, alongside the 108 kilns that support our production system. While many suppliers rely on outside processing or unstable sourcing, we continue to invest heavily in the foundation that truly determines wood quality: proper drying, stability, and consistency.

Japanese cedar is not simply “cut and shipped.”
Real quality takes time.

From air-drying yards to kiln-drying systems, every stage directly impacts straightness, moisture balance, durability, and long-term performance in the field. This is one of the reasons why Fence Empire has become a trusted direct-import partner for distributors, lumber yards, and fencing professionals across the United States.

Scale matters.
Consistency matters even more.

At Fence Empire, we are not building a short-term trading business. We are building long-term infrastructure for the fencing industry.

Demo Days wrapped up strong — and we’re grateful to have been part of it.

A big thank you to FWA for bringing the industry together and creating a platform that truly supports contractors and businesses across the market.

We’re proud to support this mission and to contribute in our own way — from on-site presence to ongoing supply chain support behind the scenes.

This is more than an event — it’s about building a stronger industry together.

Looking forward to continuing our partnership with FWA and supporting future initiatives.
