If a chair could tell a story. I'm not sure what has drawn me to appreciate old things! It could've been being raised by older men that grew up in a different time. Could've been the world was just hard but easier when I was growing up. We didn't run to town when something broke. My Didi was a jack of all trades mason, carpenter, welder, mechanic, pilot, fire man, farmer, diver, forestry employee I could go on and on. I look at this chair that I bought at a road side yardsale for 5 bucks. She was dirty and faded cobwebs all over her. But something caused me to walk threw a sea of junk directly to her. I saw something that just needed some attention some love, someone to give her a purpose all over again. No matter the dirt no matter the dust no matter the way she squeaked when she was opened up. I knew immediately that she was mine and I'd do what I could to make her right as rain again. So I wiped her off I removed as much dust and debris as I could. Then I got out my lil brush and my go to conditioner and started to apply a decent coat of skidmores ( for those who take care of there gear they know what skidmores is and it's great on wood as well actually made for it as well as leather) anyway as I applied it my hands got tired and I said ok I'll finish it later. But each time I tried to stop I saw another spot that just needed a lil more love. So even though I wanted to just leave I was drawn to her. Now she's just an old chair could've been for a church, or maybe auditorium maybe Sunday school. There's so many places she could've spent her life from being brand new to when she was pulled from a dark corner of an old shed. I know that's how it is with Jesus he's drawn to you he yearns for you he will seek you directly threw all the other junk in the room. He will wipe away yrs of abuse he will gently brush away any dust from long ago. And unlike us he doesn't get tired he sees you may need a conditioner applied to your body and soul. And he'll do that without cease he will place brush strokes in places you thought couldn't be reached. And when he's done he will fill you with emotions of joy, fear, happiness, and everything in between. Don't just sit in the corner of that old shed if your tired and worn call upon the greatest carpenter and conditioner that has ever been. He will give you rest he will give you the desires of your heart just delight yourself in God's eyes. And he will flood you with grace and mercy. Thank you God for walking with me for guiding me even when I don't listen. Most of all thank you for restoring me to what I need to be like this old chair.
