Please allow me this opportunity to "brag" for just a bit:
For those of you who have been on tours, my son has accompanied us on quite a few the last seven years. He's in 8th grade and is playing varsity baseball this spring. He's exceeded my expectations, especially pitching.
On the mound, he's 3-1 with a 0.77 ERA. In 23 1/3 innings, he's given up 10 hits, walked only four, and has struck out 36 batters.
The game he lost pitching, we were shutout offensively and he took a no-hitter into the 6th inning against a very good Windom team.
Best part that makes me want to brag momentarily: He has not had any negative body language if he's thrown a ball that Dad may have thought was a strike, and he's not done it as a hitter in the batters box either.
That's the character I'm super proud of even beyond the stats.
If you're on the June trip, he and I will see you in 28 days!
Luke Kaupang earned Player of the Game honors in Redwood Valley’s 7–2 victory over St. James on Tuesday. Kaupang threw a complete game, recording eight strikeouts while allowing no earned runs. He also contributed offensively with two hits and two RBI.
