Hey, Hey, Hey... Everyone lately has been talking about OLD School Trucking. So what is it that has everyone saying they want to go back to the OLD ways of doing things?

Is it the 0.10 cent per mile, the lumper fees based off of who unloaded your truck? Or the homeless person you hired and paid 20 bucks to unload for you.
I think maybe its the work ethic of the drivers we had back then... todays Drivers have been wined and dined so much that that they think the Customer Service side of our industry no longer exists.
The reality is that drivers today have the best of everything available to male the job easier. From APU, Inverters, Cell phones, Tablets, TV's in the truck and just about every other creature comfort you can imagine.

The question: Driver's are you the problem or part of the solution? Are you always wanting more to the point that you more yourself right out of the industry.

Driver's: The question has been raised " How can a company expect a Driver to stay out away from Home and Family for 3 to 4 weeks at a time?" The answer is simple the trucking industry is a 24/7 365 day a year job. Yes there is sacrifice to live this life and life style of an OTR driver. Yes you are going to miss a lot of things that go on with your family while you are out working. Are there going to be days that you wonder "why?" absolutely. Is this life style for everyone = NO.

I can tell you all that we live and work in an industry that is CUSTOMER SERVICE RELATED. With this in mind here at Skinner Transfer Corp. We try and satisfy our driver's needs and wants for home time and money goals. But our customer base that keeps the company growing while providing you with an opportunity.

We hire from most areas of thee 48 states. Depending where you live in the country determines how often we can get you home within our freight network.
