Job Description:
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating powered industrial forklifts to load and unload materials and move them from storage areas, machines, and loading docks into trucks and support other warehouse functions to ensure optimal operation of the business.

Job Duties:
• Operate forklift, including moving products and loading/unloading of materials onto trailers.
• Collect and stage orders to be shipped.
• Perform general warehouse responsibilities such as maintaining cleanliness and organization of shelving, pallet area, and work stations; sweep and/or mop floors.
• Maintain high standards of safety throughout operations.
• Assist in inventory control activities to include recording of materials shipped and counting of physical inventory.
• Assist other Team Members with day-to-day operations as needed and directed.
• Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
• Comply with established policies and procedures.


Job Requirements:
• One (1) year of experience operating a forklift.
• One (1) to two (2) years of experience operating a forklift.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse work instructions, safety, and housekeeping procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods or for the duration of shift (8-12 hour shifts).
• Ability to work rotating day/night, 8-12 hour shifts, as applicable.
• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varied backgrounds and levels of management.
• Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and/or under stressful situations.
• Ability to proactively problem-solve.


Applicants Must:
• Have reliable transportation.
• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Be at least 18 years old at the time of application.
• Be willing to submit to a background check and urinalysis drug screen upon offer of employment.


Additional Requirement:
• Current forklift certification preferred (but not required).
• Previous Forklift experience

Earlier this month, Novo was extremely proud to partner with the good folks over at CARTBARN to lend support to a golf tournament fundraiser benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada. Novo helped deliver rental golf carts donated by CartBarn to Somersett Golf Course. What a great event to be part of!

Team Member Spotlight: Bernard Foster

Bernard has worked for us at the Laurens, SC site for the past 7.5 years and has been and still is a valuable team member. His knowledge of the FedEx process, export inspection, and capabilities loading along with unloading has been critical in keeping our side of the operation going. Bernard works in a safe manner with quality in mind and is very dependable. We are fortunate to have him as part of our team.

Team Member Spotlight: Nick Day

Nick Day from Whitestown, IN has done a phenomenal job assisting Anita Miller (Supervisor) and Kevin Leslie (General Manager) during operations for the 3 weeks while management staff and team members assisted in the start-up for Lexington, SC. He is always willing to get involved outside of his role! Nick has been a great help in training system-related issues and procedures with new supervisory staff and new team members. Nick was also a big help while we were conducting tours of the facility with The Home Depot's Director and VP, along with their entourage for a couple of weeks. Thank you Nick for going above and beyond!
