MONTHLY MOVING TIP: Pack smarter, not harder!

Did you know the way you pack can actually make a BIG difference in how smoothly moving day goes? If you’re packing yourself, here are a few things our movers love to see when they arrive:

📦 Use boxes whenever possible. Boxes stack easily in the truck and are much quicker and safer to move than lots of loose items.

👕 Keep hanging clothes on hangers. You can use contractor trash bags or wardrobe boxes, both are the easiest ways to move clothes straight from your closet to your new one, no folding, stuffing or unpacking a pile of clothes!

🧺 Totes are great too, just don’t overfill them. Make sure the lids close completely so they can be stacked safely.

🏷️ Label your boxes by room or by color! Write “Kitchen” “Primary Bedroom” “Kids Room” etc., or try color coding! Put a blue sticker on your boxes and a matching blue sticker on the corresponding bedroom door. It makes unloading much faster when our crew knows exactly where everything belongs.

Proud moment for the My 3 Sons Moving family! 👏 Before becoming a North Carolina Wildlife Officer, John Schlegel spent time working on trucks with us as he is one of the sons. It’s been amazing to watch his career grow and see the impact he’s making protecting North Carolina’s wildlife. Congratulations on a job well done, Officer Schlegel! 🇺🇸🐊

When a 12-foot American alligator was found dead along Highway 264 in Dare County this March, Officer John Schlegel immediately launched an investigation. A necropsy conducted with one of our wildlife biologists revealed the nearly 50-year-old alligator had been shot multiple times. Working alongside Officer Alex McPhail, the officers soon identified a suspect who later admitted to unlawfully killing the animal.

Last month, the local resident pleaded guilty to unlawfully taking an American alligator and was sentenced to pay $2,283 in fines and replacement costs, complete 200 hours of community service, and forfeit the fi***rm used in the crime

In an unforeseen plot twist, officers didn’t have to look far for the weapon. On the same day the alligator was shot, law enforcement had already seized the fi***rm after the suspect was caught carrying it concealed without a permit.

This case highlights the dedication of our officers and biologists in protecting North Carolina’s wildlife and holding violators accountable.
