Are we a little obsessed with our new H135 P3H helicopters? Maybe. 😄 And we’re not apologizing for it!

As we continue celebrating 45 years of serving our community as Virginia’s first medical helicopter program, we’re just as excited about what’s ahead. This week, members of our H135 Configuration Team—Flight Paramedic Taylor and Flight Nurse Alex—joined fellow flight crew and Neonatal Pediatric Team members and Aerolite Vice President Hans Bretscher to continue optimizing the patient care area of our new Airbus H135 P3H aircraft with its state-of-the-art Aerolite interior.

Every detail matters because every improvement helps us provide the safest, most effective care possible for our patients.

Forty-five years of innovation. Forty-five years of service. And we’re just getting started. Here’s to making our 45th year one for the books! 🚁💙

Last….but definitely not least!!!!! Here she is. The newest Life-Guard 10. Having started in 1981 in a Bell 206, transitioning later to a Bell 222, then into a Bell 412, an EC 145, and most recently the EC 135 P2 + we are so happy to be transitioning into this state of the art H135 P3H! Thank you, pilot Jason Evans for bringing her home from Denton, TX!

This just in! Two of our pilots and one of our flight paramedics are taking one of our brand new P3H aircraft up for some familiarization training! It’s their maiden voyage! Can’t wait to hear feedback from pilots Ty and Ben and flight paramedic Taylor. We are excited to transition into these new aircraft in the near future.

Yesterday, we had visitors from the University of Tennessee LIFESTAR flight program. Like us, they will be transitioning into the AirBus P3H helicopter with the Aerolite interior. Les and Mike traveled to Roanoke to meet with some of our front line staff members who have been working diligently to configure the patient care area with this brand new set up. It was a great opportunity for all of us to discuss best practices. Pictured from left to right are LG Flight Nurse Alex, UT Base Manager Les, LG Director Susan, UT Base Manager Mike, and LG Flight Paramedic Scott.
