We were happy to help Steve Montgomery and the Telecom Pioneer Shoe Program with holiday cheer. Hundreds of students were able to get a new pair of shoes and socks. We deployed NINE buses yesterday to help get children to Famous Footwear for the early Christmas Gifts!

Hundreds of Quad Cities students are wearing new shoes, thanks to the annual Telecom Pioneers Shoe Day.

Our very own Evelyn Day, serving up meals and taking care of any child or family she sees that needs a meal. Evelyn has been cooking meals and facilitating supplemental food/dinners for her students and families she encounters. Evelyn is no stranger to hard work. We salute her and congratulate her on her endeavors. And that would be the one time our Evelyn was speechless! Well deserved Evelyn!!

KWQC and SERVPRO surprised Evelyn Day with the Hometown Hero Award in appreciation of Day’s service to the community. For seven years, she has provided items to those in need including home cooked meals.

November 14, 2016
Working on a promo piece for the city of Rock Island. I roped us into all sorts of fun things.
Not so fun fact, I was one year out from a pretty bad concussion and still had post-concussion syndrome. I'm certain that after this day at work I slept for 12 hours. But, I would not have changed the fact that I preserved and not many knew I was in bad shape behind those yellow glasses.
The wheels on the bus go round and round.

It all started with Mr and Mrs J.
Today is the 60th Anniversary!
I think they would be very proud, we made it here.
The previous post of a year in the life of a family bus biz, shows the good times. The celebrations, the wins. The comradery.
There is no doubt there are hard days. We are human. This company is run by family and families do not always agree. There are disagreements and downsides.
But....we are here. We work hard to be at this point. And we have to thank the thousands of employees we have had through the 60 years. They help make it happen. They are an important part of the journey.
So....the previous snippet is a great memory of a few moments in a year of our lives.
Cheers to many more.

Let's see.....Friday Night Lights...

September and October
The schedule is full of Football Teams, Cheerleaders and Fans.
It's been a few years, but several drivers come to mind about being "SUPER FAN" BUS DRIVERS....there are many, but a few pop into my head.
Mr. Ed Burkhead, he was the Alleman Super Fan, he drove so much for Alleman and dedicated his extra time to the football team. I believe back then we had a superstitious coach that ONLY wanted Mr. Ed to drive, he was their good luck charm!! Ed also did a lot of donating his time back to the football program during his tenure. He was a gem of a man, wearing his green windbreaker!
He was also the go to guy, he lived very close to the bus garage and if we had a last minute add on he was the man to come to the rescue. I know I called him quite a few times back in the 80s and 90s to come help me with a trip!!
Then there was DeWitt Terry another gem. Such a kind man, he loved his Alleman Football because his grandsons played for many many years...4 boys all playing ball and he watched them all! DeWitt and Mr. Ed were the dream team back in the day.
More recently we had Mr. Bolt. Ken wore a team hat for EVERY team he drove for. His teams made sure if he did not have one, they would get him one. Rocky, Alleman, Moline, Augustana, Blackhawk, you name it. He had it! If by chance he did not, he wore team colors!
Ken is enjoying Texas these days!
We have super BAND FANS too...
Bryan and Chris Edwards, husband and wife team traveling with the Rocky Band and Moline too over the years.
There are soooo many SUPER FAN drivers, that's one of the cool things. All of our locations have drivers that LOVE their teams....so many dedicated School Bus Drivers and FANS of their TEAMS. We are proud to support them and be a part of their journeys.
With that said, if you are reading this on a Friday night and need a side gig....please apply!! We are always happy to add to the roster and make more memories with new employees. 60 years of memories and Friday Night Football Games in Illinois!
