🚛 5 Mistakes Homeowners Make When Moving

After years of helping families relocate, we see the same patterns over and over again:

1️⃣ Waiting too long to book movers.
The good companies are typically booked out weeks in advance — sometimes a month or more — especially during busy seasons.

2️⃣ Underestimating how long packing takes.
Golden rule (if you’re packing yourself):
Double whatever time you think it will take.

3️⃣ Moving things you don’t actually want.
Declutter before move day.
Trash it, donate it, sell it, or work with companies (like ours) that offer a “Sell It” solution. It’s less stress — and sometimes extra cash in your pocket.

4️⃣ Scheduling too many service providers on unloading day.
Painters, TV installers, contractors, handymen — every extra body and vehicle slows the process down.
Even with flat-rate moves, delays can cost you.
If possible, schedule them a day before or after.
