When a shipment 🚚 exceeds the legal dimensions set by the state in which the load is shipping through it is considered to be heavy haul trucking.

📌Length ( overall length requirements differ state by state.)
📌Weight (A shipment which is more than 80,000 lbs. gross weight will also require overweight permits to travel in any state.)
📌Width (A load which is more than 8’6” wide will require an oversize permit.)
📌Height (The legal overall height of a load through most states is 13’6” high. However, some western states are higher.)

➡️On any of the above standards, the load being hauled must be non-reducible. It means that a shipment must be hauled in its smallest form.

➡️PERMITS- oversize permits are valid for 7️⃣days.
📌Permit is normally obtained prior to entering state. Permits can also be obtained at Ports of Entry. (You need proof of insurance in vehicle if you buy permit at a POE)
➡️KANSAS TURNPIKE-Width up to 📌12′-6″ allowed to travel without es**rt, ⏱24 hours a day seven days a week (must have proper lighting traveling nights).
Over 📌12′-6″ wide up to 📌14′ wide can travel daytime without es**rt. Maximum width is 📌16′, 125′ long. Maximum height is 📌14′ without special approval from a Turnpike Highway Patrol Officer.
▪️Maximum weights-📌20,000 single, 📌34,000 tandems, 📌42,000 triples, 📌50,000 quads.

Overweight Permits📝are special types of temporary permits which authorize the movement of vehicles 🚛with a gross weight exceeding legal weights. This type of permit 📄may be issued after a weight analysis of the planned route. The weighted analysis may result in a ⏱24 to 48-hour postponement in the issuance of the Overweight Permits.

➡️Generally, all vehicles and trailers for which special permits are requested shall be licensed in accordance with the state's licensing laws. Overweight Permits up to 125% of legal weight covering scheduled moves or specific routes may be requested for extended periods of time up to a maximum of one year in one-month increments.
