It’s Good Friday.
We’re in a hotel.
Both laptops open.

Instead of relaxing…
we’re tracking trucks and answering calls 😅

Honestly… wouldn’t have it any other way.

Ever had one of those “this should’ve been simple” loads… turn into absolute chaos? 😅

The other day, we had a shipment booked and ready to roll.

Then—BOOM 💥—truck breaks down. Late pickup.

Not ideal… but not the end of the world either.

So what did we do?

We communicated.
Immediately.

We gave the shipper a new ETA (1 day later), stayed transparent, and reassured them:
👉 “We’re still locked in and committed to your load.”

Now here’s where it gets interesting…

Suddenly, the load became “HOT” 🔥
(…even though that was never mentioned before 👀)

They pulled the load and gave it to another broker who “promised” to hit the original delivery time.

We stepped back and said, “No problem—your call.”

Fast forward…

That same load delivered a day and a half LATER than our updated ETA 🤯
And yes… they paid MORE to make that happen.

Moral of the story?

👉 The cheapest option isn’t always the one that saves you money.
👉 The fastest promise isn’t always the fastest result.

And most importantly—

💡 Proactive communication beats reactive decision-making every single time.

Because at the end of the day, logistics isn’t just about trucks…

It’s about trust.

The “10 Minutes Away” Classic

POV:
The carrier says they’re “10 minutes away.”

You refresh tracking.
You call dispatch.
You stare at the clock.

45 minutes later…

Still 10 minutes away.

It is bringing back memories of another lifetime for me when I would hear...

"AutoZone, ten minutes"
