May 18th, the day we lost a friend, a visionary and an advocate for the western industry. In honor of Patrick Gottsch's legacy and his profound impact on preserving Western heritage, the American Hat Company family wishes to express our deepest condolences to the Gottsch family and Rural Media Group, Inc. Patrick's vision and dedication to reconnecting city with country through Rural Media Group have left an indelible mark on the world, shining a bright light on rural America and the Western lifestyle. His unwavering commitment to his mission will continue to inspire generations to come. May his legacy live on as a beacon of hope and unity for all who cherish the rural way of life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gottsch family during this difficult time, and we honor their request for privacy as they grieve the loss of their beloved patriarch.

Mahan brought credibility to being a cowboy and he was brilliant with the media, who eventually learned they could always come to him.

***NO SALE ON TUESDAY, JUNE 6**

Hello Central Montana & Beyond! Our post-Memorial Day sale was a dandy as all markets continue to solidify! We sold right at 400 head of stock, including cattle, sheep and horses this week. Very few yearling-makers left in the feeder cattle pipeline and the demand continues to be strong for turn-out cattle. We saw some 500 # steers bring $289 and 520 # heifers bring $269 this Tuesday. Slaughter cows topped at $115 and slaughter bulls blew past our previous highs of $130, topping at $143! Our spring sheep sale consisted of close to 100 head, with ewes bringing mostly $42-59, bucks bringing $61-77.50 – an excellent market given recent conditions. One 18 year-old kid-broke ranch horse brought $5,800 topping our spring horse sale.

NO SALE NEXT WEEK, JUNE 6th; we will sell EVERY OTHER WEEK through the month of June. June 16th and 30th will both be regular All-Class Cattle Sales. Please check the website for updates. Thanks for bringing your business our way! - Kyle Shobe
