***RIDER ALERT***

Quick Reminder: Fair Haven Route no longer runs on the weekend.

Thank you all for your feedback, to clarify a few points regarding the return to fares,

• 10-Ride Punch Cards include roundtrips (20-Punches) and are valid on all routes.
o They are primarily meant for Commuter Route riders who ride infrequently enough that a monthly or seasonal Access Pass wouldn’t make financial sense.

• Children age 10 and younger ride free.

• Seniors Aged 60+ are eligible for reduced fare.

• Fare revenue will go towards supporting MVRTD’s public transportation services

• Summer Season: May 1st-October 31st | Winter Season: November 1st-April 30th
o Season Passes sold for Summer Season 2026 will be prorated to $200 full price/$100 reduced price

• Alongside cash fares upon boarding, we will be accepting cashless payments at the Transit Center and online.
o We do not plan to use a mobile app at this time.

Stay tuned for more information will be released in the coming months!

***RIDER ALERT***

On Tuesday March 10, our Board of Commissioners approved the reimplementation of a standard fare structure beginning on July 1st, 2026. MVRTD has been proud to offer temporary fare-free transportation for the past six years but will now be requiring passengers to pay fares for rides on our vehicles in order to maintain public transportation in Rutland County.

Fares and passes will be available for pre-purchase in June. Subject to change, single fares and pass rates will be the following: City-Fixed Routes: $1/ride, Commuter Routes: $3/ride. City-Fixed Monthly Access Pass: $30/month, All Route Monthly Access Pass: $60/month, All Route Seasonal Access Pass: $300/season. 10 Ride Punch Cards: $60/punch card.

Seniors/Disabled/Medicare/Veterans are eligible for 50% discount on the above rates.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
• Fares will be required beginning July 1st, 2026

• Multiple payment options will be available for convenience

• Discounted fares will be available for eligible riders

• Purchase options & payment methods will be shared before the launch date

Our goal is to make the transition as smooth as possible while maintaining safe, accessible, and dependable service for everyone who relies on MVRTD. Thank you for your continued support of public transportation.
