I’m here to help with any and all questions you have regarding your move. For a small fee I will come to your home and walk you through the way to make your move as stress free as possible. Share all my tips and tricks.Teach you how to properly pack. Help you to stage your home for your move. Here is an overview of everything I have mentioned in my previous posts. I hope these help answer so frequently asked questions or concerns.

1. Make sure your new home is ready to be moved into.( if you have to move the boxes and furniture you paid a moving company to move then you are wasting your money and time.
2. Anything that you do not want to be moved or of great value (jewelry,weapons,ashes,etc. )is either in it own separate section or already in your vehicle.
3. If you have a 2 story home and want to save money on the move . Bring as much downstairs as you can. Stage boxes as the first thing to go on the truck.
4. If you live upstairs move everything from the back room to the room closest to the front door also staging boxes as the first thing to go on the truck. Tip : the heavier the item the smaller the box should be.
5. All boxes are closed and labeled to match unload location for easy unload. Also some movers will not take any open boxes .
6. If using a moving company and trying to save time by taking things apart. Talk with estimator first to see if they would be willing to put it back together. Tip: leave all 📺 plugged in so that they can turn them on to make sure they are working properly before packing.
7. Get mattress bags if they do not provide them. They will drag them and they will get dirty or damaged.
8.It’s ok to leave clothes/no breakables in your dressers. They should be blanketing and shrink wrapping all furniture anyways. This will save you time in packing/unpacking and materials.
9. Label all rooms at new home that match the boxes (color coded works the best )to make the unload a grab and go for the movers. Tip: Have someone at the front door directing traffic. if they have to pick up item twice because they had to find you to ask where things go you can not be upset at the movers for taking a long time at the unload.
So this overview is a good starting guide for you to make your move as stress free as possible, saving you time and money 💵 .
Ps : if you feel your movers did there job well tip them , some movers rely highly on cash not lunch or beer lol. If they worked a 8 or less hour day anything under $20 each@ the lowest would be an insult. 8+ hours I would put at $50 each @ the lowest. Tip: give $ tip to each individual personally not to one person to distribute to the workers.( Theft is not as uncommon in the moving company business as you would think )

-This is for the customer, I helped you and was honest about what to look for in your movers now it’s your turn lol-

1. Keep in mind that all moving companies call themselves professionals, but not ever move is going to go smooth.
2. There could be a rookie, senior on his way out, or just a bad employee who’s just not cut out for this kind of work.
3.When the inevitable does happen and something goes wrong. Stay calm and talk to the lead who is handling the paperwork to resolve the issue and take note of the issue. The manager or owner should be in contact with you to go over it and come up with a resolution. If you do decide to get upset and yell and cuss, I can guarantee that the rest of your move will be unpleasant for both you and the movers. You attitude will set the tone for how the move goes and if yours is a bad attitude the movers you are paying 200+ an hour for 10hr of an estimated price which is not a set price and can go up. They will have no problem dragging their feet. So same rule as don’t mess with the people who handle your food applies here.
4. Don’t get me wrong there is such a thing as just bad movers and you need to identify this before they start moving anything. Give yourself enough time to get to get into your new home that if you need to get a different crew or company out there you will have no issues. The number one thing I saw when I was moving people was the stress, they put themselves under due to not planning ahead.
5. This is for the ones that are able, but movers do not make a lot of money and relay highly on tips and I mean cash at the end of the job if you feel they have earned it of course. If you are to give them a tip, give it to each individual, do not hand all to the lead person. Theft is always a possibility.

-Using a moving company but doing your own packing –

1. Make sure all items to be moved are packed the night before at the latest in a secure closed box. (Some companies will not take open boxes and hate waiting for items to be packed due to boxes being the first thing on the truck)
2.Rule of thumb is the heavier the item to be packed is the smaller the box should be! (don’t be that because I’ve been the mover to have to deal with it.
3.Packing of fragile item should have 2 layers of bubble wrap on the bottom and top drape the bubble wrap in and out of the box. Wrapping all items in multiple layers of paper going from heaviest item on the bottom to lightest on top. Stuff paper in between gaps and you should be able the shake the box
4. This is more of a general rule that all customers should follow. You are letting strangers into your home. Make sure are your valuables are in a safe place before the movers arrive. Not all moving companies have insurance and if you cannot prove they took it you will have lost it and you time and money for something that could have been easily avoided.
5.Tips for moving tv’s. Make sure that you do not unplug the tv’s before the movers move them. They should be making sure that the TVs are in working order before they are moved. If you see that they are not doing so make sure that they do. This way if the tv getting to your new home and does not work you know that it was in working order before they touched it.

-Moving and not using a Moving Company-

1. First off make sure that you get a moving truck that is bigger than you think you need. Doing more than one trip to your new home no matter the distance is a waste of time and money and can be avoided with the proper size truck and proper stacking of the truck.
2. If you are blessed to be moving from a one story to another one story this move can be easily completed by a single skilled mover with a hand truck, 4-wheel dolly, and rope. For the unskilled I would highly recommend help, but still should use the equipment.
3. Moving blankets or thick blankets, Shrink wrap. These are a must have for dresser drawers staying closed and protecting the furniture/ walls while it’s getting to the truck and to its new home. (Do not use tape to keep drawers closed)
4. If space is an issue leave linens/unbreakable items in drawers, make sure all boxes are closed and stackable. Stack boxes first heavy on the bottom light on the top. Beds next, then square furniture that can be stacked. Fill in gaps with couch cushions, rugs, etc. At this point if it has been done correctly you should have had to use more then one rope to tie off something from moving. Then couches and chairs, desks, ect. Make sure to make complete walls nice and tight filling in gaps as you go.

- MUST HAVE MATERIALS IF MOVING YOUR SELF –

1. Boxes: smaller, medium, large, wardrobe, and tv.
2.Packing tape no duct tape or scotch tape it will give way in less than 24 hours.
3. Packing paper and bubble wrap. (Use properly or items will break)
4. Sharpie or label tape for easy unload.
