After countless miles, memories, and some seriously good rides, Bootlegger Bikes J’ville will be closing our doors for good on June 7th. It’s bittersweet, but what a ride it’s been! 💔🚴‍♂️

We can’t thank you enough for the support, stories, and community you’ve helped us build. From fixing flats to swapping trail tales, you made this shop more than just a bike shop.

But don’t hang up your helmets just yet — we’re not going far! All inventory and operations are rolling over to our St. Albans shop, where the spirit of J’ville will keep on pedaling strong. Same crew, same vibes, new zip code.

Stop by before June 7th to say farewell, snag some gear, or share one last story.

Ride on, J’ville. You’ll always be part of the Bootlegger family. ❤️

AND, don’t miss our Memorial weekend sale....where most bikes, gear, and accessories will be 50-75% off. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (Memorial day weekend).

While visiting family friends in Angers, France, we discovered that Brivaël, the mastermind behind , is close with some of our dear friends. As a devoted bike enthusiast and lover of handcrafted frames, I couldn’t resist the chance to visit his workshop.
Tucked away just outside Angers, Brivaël’s shop is surrounded by picturesque vineyards and narrow, winding roads—perfect terrain for an all-road bike come summer.....another visit imminent?!
During my visit, I learned that Brivaël honed his craft over several years as an apprentice brazing frames at a local production-focused builder. That invaluable experience laid the foundation for Quokka Cycles. Today, with hundreds of frames to his name, Brivaël’s expertise is evident in every detail of his work.
The shop was a treasure trove of stunning bikes—from immaculate show pieces to personal rides and customer builds ready for pickup. Each frame featured flawlessly blended brazed connections and paintwork that could rival the best in the industry.
Let’s just say, after seeing his craftsmanship up close, I can’t stop thinking about adding a Quokka frame to my collection.
