Here's the moving tip nobody tells you until it's too late: pack one "first
night" box and load it onto the truck last, so it comes off first. Because at
the end of moving day, the last thing you want is to dig through fifteen
identical boxes looking for your phone charger, a toothbrush, or clean
sheets. Keep it simple — chargers, meds and toiletries, one change of
clothes, sheets and a towel, coffee and a mug, plus a few snacks and
water. Write "OPEN FIRST" on every side in big letters. That one box turns
night one from stressful to settled, even when everything else is still
stacked in the hallway. Save this for when your move gets real — and send
it to whoever's moving this summer.
