🚤 Another boat back on the water! ⚓
Customer brought us a cooling system concern. During inspection, we found water contamination in the lower unit gear oil. Removed the lower unit and replaced the raw water impeller. A pressure test revealed leaking driveshaft seals, which were replaced before reassembly. Fresh gear oil was installed and the lower unit was retested to verify proper sealing.
Additionally, the trim motor was found to be faulty and was replaced, restoring proper trim and tilt operation.
✅ Raw Water Impeller Replacement
✅ Driveshaft Seal Replacement
✅ Lower Unit Pressure Test
✅ Gear Oil Service
✅ Trim Motor Replacement
✅ Final Operational Testing
Don't ignore milky gear oil—it can lead to costly lower unit damage if left untreated.

These thermostats hadn’t been serviced in a long time — completely corroded and packed with calcium and salt buildup. While flushing your engine helps, it does NOT replace routine maintenance.
When thermostats get clogged like this, they can’t regulate temperature properly, leading to:
🔥 Overheating
⚙️ Poor engine performance
💧 Internal corrosion
💸 Expensive repairs down the road
Regular service keeps your cooling system working the way it should and protects your engine investment. Don’t wait until you’re stranded on the water.
✅ Preventive maintenance saves engines
✅ Saltwater + heat = buildup over time
✅ Service intervals matter
If your engine hasn’t had a cooling system service in a while, it may be time.

Well… looks like this Crusader just checked into Neptune Marine Surgery Center. ⚓🔧
Compression numbers weren’t looking good, so it’s time to open her up and see what’s really going on inside.
Another day in the life of a marine mechanic here in Jacksonville.
