🚛 Would your load stay in place during a hard brake?

Proper cargo securement is critical for every truck driver. Improperly secured freight can shift during sudden braking, sharp turns, or emergency maneuvers — putting the driver and everyone on the road at risk.

Ratchet straps, load bars, blocking, and bracing can all play a role, depending on the type of freight and trailer. Always follow FMCSA cargo securement regulations and check that your load is properly secured before hitting the road.

🚛 Under 80,000 lbs doesn’t automatically mean you’re legal!

As a CDL-A truck driver, you need to pay attention to more than just your truck’s total gross weight. 👀

⚖️ Why does axle weight matter?
Even if your total gross vehicle weight is within the federal 80,000-lb limit, individual axles or axle groups can exceed their legal weight limits. Federal limits generally include:
☑ 20,000 lbs on a single axle
☑ 34,000 lbs on a tandem axle group
☑ 80,000 lbs gross vehicle weight

These limits are subject to applicable federal and state regulations, including bridge-formula requirements and route restrictions.

📍 Before hitting the road, check your CAT Scale ticket, axle weights, and load distribution. A quick truck weigh-in can help you identify potential issues before they become costly problems.
