St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical & Community College participate in the U-Pass Ride Program. Students currently enrolled at SCSU and SCTCC can ride any Metro Bus route year-round by swiping their valid campus ID through the farebox. The Metro Bus U-Pass Ride program allows SCSU and SCTCC students to have unlimited Fixed Route bus service throughout the four city (St. Cloud, Sauk Rapids, Sartell and Waite Park) area without having to pay a fare.

Registering your Metro Bus Smart Ride Card will help protect your card balance against loss, damage or theft and is as easy as 1, 2, 3!

1. Create an online account.
2. Select "Register an Existing Card" from the My Cards menu.
3. Enter the 10-digit card number and CVV number as they appear on the back of your card.

Registered customers can check your Card's balance, add value, view transaction history or enroll in Autobuy to automatically replenish your card's value.

SCSU and SCTCC students have the "unFare" advantage! Their colleges participate in the U-Pass Ride Program, making their student IDs a bus pass. Just swipe and go! It's that easy and no money is required. It's covered as part of their student fees.

Metro Bus Smart Ride Cards offer Stored Value for regular fares, Fixed Route 10-Ride Passes and Frequent Rider Passes. Smart Ride Cards can be purchased for $3 at the Transit Center, online or at ticket outlets. You can load funds to any Smart Ride Card online or through the Metro Bus Smart Ride App on your mobile device. All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges.
The Metro Bus Smart Ride App and the Smart Ride Card are not synced. Purchased products are not transferrable between them.
