When it comes to roofing tear-offs, it's good to know:

What type of roofing material is this?
➡️ These are asphalt shingles, the most common roofing material. They’re durable but create a LOT of waste during a tear-off.

How many squares are on a roof?
➡️ Roof size is measured in squares (1 square = 100 sq. ft). Even an average home can have 20–30 squares, which means a HUGE pile of shingles to dispose of.

How heavy is all that material?
➡️ Asphalt shingles weigh 200–250 lbs per square. Multiply that by a whole roof, and you’re dealing with several tons of debris.

Yesterday we received 3 new containers built by AC Disposal Services, Inc. in New Mexico. Thank you to JC Crane Co for being available to offload the containers. A few weeks ago, we were completing a hauling job from Utah to Oregon that ended completely different than we had anticipated. Our truck broke down, in the middle of nowhere: Wah Wah Valley; cell service: none.

After a few minutes; three of the kindest humans who were driving back home from church stopped to help. The young kid offered his cell phone, and a tow back to his family owned Ranch: https://www.facebook.com/RidgelineBeef After 5 hours (in freezing temperatures) and with his excellent mechanic skills, he helped us replace a broken belt, alternator and tensioner pulley. The truck was fixed!

We were floored with gratitude and still are. The gentleman that helped us is a Senior in High School and was so genuine and kind. He wouldn't accept any money from us and said "it's what we do here, we help people." 🧡
