If you want your summer trip to Mackinac Island to have just a little more nostalgia, Classic Ferry service has returned to the lineup to help you check that box.

Arnold Transit’s vintage boats are now back in service through Sept. 6, offering rides that are a little slower than the typical fast ferry runs - and ticket prices that are a little lower, too.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, all active military and veterans will receive one complimentary round-trip passenger ticket to Mackinac Island with valid military ID.

We are excited to announce the return or our Classic Service beginning May 23, offering passengers a nostalgic and scenic journey across the Straits aboard Arnold’s historic fleet.

Departing exclusively from the Classic Dock in St. Ignace, the experience offers a slower-paced, more immersive trip that celebrates the heritage, beauty, and traditions of traveling to Mackinac Island.

Known for its open-air decks, historic vessels, and relaxed pace, these classic ferry crossings have become a favorite for families, boat lovers, photographers, and guests looking to enjoy the journey as much as the destination.

The experience also continues to offer one of the best values for ferry transportation to Mackinac Island.

Guests aboard Classic vessels this season will also be able to enjoy beer, wine, beverages, and new Classic fleet merchandise while taking in unforgettable views of the Straits of Mackinac.
