It's National School Bus Safety Week! 🚌

Every school day, the yellow bus is the safest way for kids to get to school. Students are about 70 times more likely to arrive safely on a school bus than in a car.

That doesn't happen by accident. It happens because of the drivers, aides, mechanics, dispatchers, and office staff who show up before sunrise to make it happen. This week we're celebrating them, and sharing a few reminders to help keep every rider safe.

Back to school, back to basics, and SODA-lighted to have our team back! 🥤🚌

This September, our drivers and driver assistants gathered for our first safety meeting of the year. We refreshed the fundamentals that keep students safe every single day, from Trobec's Safety Procedures to Routing Challenges, Student Mangement, and more! We also announced our September Employees of the month. (watch for that announcement next week :wink: ).

Afterward, we treated the team to a root b**r float bar complete with red-and-white straws, plenty of scoops, and a few root b**r barrels on the side. It was great to catch up, share some laughs, and kick off the year together.

To our drivers and assistants: thank you for the care you bring to every route. Families trust you with their most precious cargo, and we're proud to have you on our team. ❤️

The rule: No eating on the bus. 🚌

Apparently there’s no rule against turning the aisle into a runway. 😂

Drivers, mechanics… doesn’t matter. Give the Trobec’s team a camera and suddenly EVERYONE knows how to strut. 💅😂

We take our jobs seriously. Ourselves? Not so much.

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming about 20 seniors from ROCORI High School to Trobec’s! 🚌

These students are exploring future careers in transportation and business, so owners Bethany Bertram and Becca Atkinson spent some time sharing the history of Trobec’s, their journey to ownership, and a few of the philosophies that have helped guide them along the way.

The students also toured our facility and learned that there is A LOT more that goes into keeping buses moving than what you see out on the road!

From professional drivers and diesel technicians to routing, dispatch, safety, HR, accounting, sales, technology, marketing and operations, transportation offers so many different career paths and opportunities to grow.

One of our favorite parts of visits like this is getting to show students that you don’t have to have your entire future figured out at 17 or 18 years old. Sometimes a great career starts by simply getting your foot in the door, working hard, learning everything you can and saying yes to new opportunities.

Thank you to ROCORI for spending part of your day with us! We loved sharing a little piece of Trobec’s with the next generation of leaders and transportation professionals.

Who knows… maybe there was a future member of Team Trobec’s in the group! 😉🐝

The phones are ringing, routes are changing, buses are rolling, coffee is flowing, and somewhere someone is definitely asking, “Where is bus ___?” 😂

The first week of school is always a little bit of organized chaos, but there’s truly nothing like seeing months of preparation finally come to life.

We’re tired. We’re running on caffeine. We’re probably talking about buses in our sleep. But we LOVE this week and the incredible team behind it all.

Here’s to another school year of getting thousands of kiddos where they need to go safely each day. 💛🚌

The part of back-to-school you don’t always see. 🚌💛

Our dispatch command center is BUSY as drivers and paras stop in to pick up their routes, get familiar with their stops, practice their runs and make sure they’re ready for that first morning.

There are a whole lot of details that have to come together before those yellow buses start rolling, and our team is hard at work making it happen.

T-6 days, St. Cloud Area School District 742! We’re almost ready for you. 🚌
